Metal of Honor "feminized"

a really interesting article on how courage has transformed for the US army.

That kinda sums up my reaction to this. Not only is Fischer making light of the fact that this man risked life and limb in order to save his fellow countrymen, he's totally disregarding and disrespecting it. I don't know, but i feel it's much more important to save lives than it is to kill.
Then he also says that a family deserved their house to be burned down because they didn't pay the fire protection fee, and I just can't take him seriously. In fact, the firefighters should be punished, because they have a duty to serve the community, regardless of whether or not a fire protection fee is paid.
And one more thing that is a little upsetting. He's also disrespecting the feminine and anything connected by implying that that the "feminization" of the country/military is so horrible.

  2. Fischer has really got the right idea here. Why can't we go back to the good 'ole days, when we were only awarded for killing and destroying things? That's what REAL men do; we smash things with our bulging muscles. Anyone who spends time trying to save wounded comrades should actually be looked down upon, because that's time wasted when that person could have been shooting a dirty red, or pillaging or burning down a civilian house. Saving people is what WOMEN do for christ's sake, hence the whole "feminism" thing being brought into this. The military should adopt a strictly masculine personality (I'm picturing a tree house with a "No girls allowed" sign kind of deal). I'm hoping this will ensure that the military can in NO way be associated with women, or...*shudder*, feminism.
This brings me to the point about the family with the burned down house. It's really terrific that nobody tried to put out the fire. It expresses a really solid Christian attitude; that family's gotta know that if they don't pay the fee, they won't reap the benefits. In fact, even if they HAD paid their fire protection fee, fire fighters should've let it burn down. Far as I'm concerned, you gotta protect your OWN house from fires. Concerning the military, I can't bear to think what's next; who knows? Maybe Medals of Honors will be passed out to soldiers who try to put out fires in ENEMY civilian homes. God forbid! They're called our enemies for a reason; we can't try to promote peace (how absurd!). Fischer really opened up my eyes; we've got to go about this war in the most aggressive fashion possible. If soldiers know that they'll be rewarded for acts of kindness, that might take away from their desire to cause grief and destruction. And Tory, I think you've got this all backwards. I'm certain others will agree with me.
